As one of Kelowna’s most beloved family entertainment destinations, Scandia Golf & Games has been a community favourite for decades. But in 2018, a devastating basement flood forced the closure and complete demolition of their indoor jungle-themed mini golf course. That didn’t stop the fun for long. Plan B Contractors managed a full-scale rebuild, working alongside international designers and specialty artists to reimagine the course. While the rest of the facility stayed open, our team helped Scandia turn a setback into a fresh, exciting experience for the next generation of players.
After a major flood in 2018 caused extensive damage to the basement level of the Scandia facility, the original mini golf course was no longer salvageable. With the rest of the entertainment complex still operating, Scandia needed a rebuild that wouldn’t disrupt business operations and would ultimately deliver an even better experience for patrons. The entire course had to be demolished, and a complete redesign was launched. The new course was developed in collaboration with Castle Golf, a leading U.S.-based mini golf designer, and a professional concrete sculptor who created immersive features like ships, skulls, and other jungle-themed obstacles. Our team was hands-on, picking up rare skills while bringing the iconic environment back to life.
Plan B worked closely with Castle Golf and an expert concrete sculptor from the United States to craft a new mini-golf experience. Our construction team coordinated every aspect of the rebuild with specialized props and materials—from demolition and material procurement to installation and finishing. The Scandia owners were actively involved, supplying original plans and guiding the design to ensure it lived up to the nostalgia and expectations of long-time guests.
