When the City Of West Kelowna set out to bring modern, affordable housing to the community, they called on Plan B Contractors to make it happen. The result? Abode—a five-story, wood-framed condominium designed with community and convenience in mind. With an underground parkade, two elevators, and thoughtfully designed spaces like a guest suite, fitness studio, social lounge, and even a dog-wash station, Abode delivers both function and comfort. Plus, with electric vehicle charging stations and an amenities room, it was built with the future in mind.
Why the Project was Needed: West Kelowna needed more affordable housing, and Abode was designed to fill that gap. A well-planned, conventional build, the residential construction project aimed to provide modern living options while staying accessible to the community. But, bringing this vision to life came with its challenges—securing reliable tradespeople, meeting strict framing quality standards, and navigating construction during the COVID-19 labour shortages. Despite these hurdles, Plan B Contractors ensured that Abode stayed on course, upholding the high standards expected of every build.
The Project Team: Led by our Project Manager, Rob Kline, our team tackled Abode with the expertise and determination that define our work. From coordinating skilled trades to adapting to unexpected obstacles, our hands-on approach ensured that every element of this residential build met or exceeded expectations. Working alongside Indigenous-owned subcontractors and local trades, we reinforced our commitment to quality construction and community engagement.
