Lydford Place

What started as a 400-square-foot addition became a full-home transformation at Lydford Place. Plan B Contractors expanded the existing 1,800-square-foot home with a brand-new master suite, seamlessly integrated into the original structure. From pouring the foundation during a winter cold snap to tying in finishes throughout the house, this project showcases Plan B’s growing residential expertise and commitment to getting the job done right.

Key Project Details

Why the Project was Needed:

The homeowner felt cramped in their space and needed an addition that included a spacious master bedroom, a walk-in closet with built-ins, and a full ensuite with a water closet. Trees were cleared, and excavation and structural engineering ensured proper tie-in to the existing roofline. When a cold snap hit just before the foundation pour and the staff was unavailable, the project manager, Chris, stepped in by himself, forming and pouring the concrete with the help of a kindly neighbour to keep the project on track.

As the build progressed, the scope expanded. The client decided to renovate the entire home with new flooring, paint, pot lights, and doors, creating a consistent look and feel throughout.

The Project Team:

Led by Chris and supported by a working site superintendent who framed the structure, the Lydford project relied on strong carpentry and proactive scheduling. Despite the weather and evolving scope, a small, dedicated team delivered the project smoothly and successfully. And let’s face it—the neighbour who helped pour the concrete is the real hero of this story.
