Renovating an iconic restaurant like Kelly O’Bryan’s on Bernard Ave. comes with high expectations and tight timelines, and Plan B Contractors delivered. This fast-paced interior transformation involved a complete refresh of the dining area, an all-new washroom layout, and upgrades to kitchen and prep areas. The design balances modern comfort and heritage charm, blending restored hardwood floors, exposed brickwork, and custom millwork with updated fixtures and finishes. The result is a space that feels both fresh and familiar, true to the spirit of this downtown Kelowna favourite.
As part of an overall revitalization of “Kelly O’s”, the client wanted to modernize the restaurant’s interior while preserving its character and ensuring a comfortable place for residents and visitors to eat their famous pachos. Plan B was tasked with executing a full demolition and renovation on a compressed schedule. Key updates included a redesigned washroom layout, refinished dining floors, enhanced kitchen and prep areas, and improved lighting throughout. One of the standout features was the careful relocation of the restaurant’s original heavy safe door, now installed in a new wall where it’s visible from both sides, offering a nod to the building’s rich history.
Plan B Contractors managed the project from start to finish, working closely with local Kelowna trades and the restaurant’s ownership team to ensure a smooth, on-brand transformation. With careful attention to materials and detailing, our team sourced unique finishes that elevated the look while remaining functional in a high-traffic environment. The kitchen updates featured new washable wall surfaces and bright lighting to improve cleanliness and visibility, supporting both staff efficiency and health standards.
